Monologue:
Love is Blind
By: Katie Roner and Hannah Davis
H & K: Love
K: Love is something we have experienced since day one
H: It is the glue that holds families and friends together
H & K: But what is love?
H: Love is pushing yourself to be a better person for them
K: Love is caring about someone more than yourself
H: Love is going against all odds to reach happiness for the both of you
K: Love is accepting them for who they are with open arms
H: Love is willing to take risks for the other person
K: Love is having patience with each other even when you want to strangle them
H: Love means wanting more for the other person than you want for yourself
K: Love is understanding that person more than anyone else does
H : Love is a bond that no matter what cannot be broken
H & K: Love is blind
H: Blind as a bat
K: Blind as my grandma without her glasses
H & K: What would you do for someone you love?
K: I would get burned alive for someone I love, loose all of my possessions, kill someone for them, let them walk all over me without even questioning it, I would let them cheat on me and still come back, I would cut my arm off for them, I would protect them with my life, and most importantly I would never let them go.
H: But you can't let love make you go blind. Love is powerful and can make you do things that are out of your morals. In order to love someone you have to love yourself first. You have to know your worth and your values and you have to love other people and let other people love you.
K: Once I let my ex boyfriend constantly slut shame me, he made me feel like I was worthless. He would get mad at me for hanging out with my friends and wouldn’t let me talk to other people.
H: Love yourself, know your worth.
K: My best friend died and I am still heartbroken. She means everything to me and I am lost without her. My mom constantly tries to care and love me ,but I just shut her out along with everyone else.
H: Let others love you.
H: Don't let a loved one persuade you into doing something that is out of your comfort zone. No matter how much you love that person they shouldn't want to change you and you shouldn't let them change you.
K: Know your worth and value, know your morals
H & K: We constantly have love on our minds whether we realize it or not
H: “It’s all about love. We’re either in love, dreaming about love, recovering from it, wishing for it, or reflecting on it.” -Michael Buble
K: Love is part of our everyday lives and it’s different for every single person.
H: There are different definitions of love but in the end it is all about caring for one another.
H & K: Make everyone feel loved, appreciated, respected, protected, supported, happy, and cared for. Everyone as a human being has the right to be treated the way and has the ability to treat others this way. And most of all love each other.
